Connecting Knowledge and Enhancing Lives

Collaboration

TIRR Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization created in 1987 to support TIRR Hospital. In 2006, TIRR Foundation transitioned into an independent, public charity separate from the hospital. The goals and programs of TIRR Foundation endure, and, in particular, our mission to improve the lives of those who have sustained a severe neurological injury. At TIRR Foundation, we embrace new concepts, novel research, and innovative programs.

Our mission, goals, and programs are based on the knowledge that:
  • Through sustained, collaborative research, discoveries will be made that vastly improve the care and recovery of those with brain and spinal cord injuries.
  • Through rehabilitation and a connection to the right resources, those with brain and spinal cord injuries will regain a level of independence, improved health, and function despite the constraints of their injury.
  • Through adaptively engaging in one’s valued interests, the well-being and quality of life for those with brain and spinal cord injuries will be greatly enriched.
